80 Means 66

Maybe you play an instrument because you like the feeling you get when you are working out a musical passage. Or maybe you really like the instrument’s sound. Maybe you play because of the excitement before a concert or you love the praise that performing well brings. To all of you, whatever your reasons, and wherever you are on your musical path, know that CYM is dedicated to regularly connecting you to appreciative audiences. Keep up the good work, keep signing up to perform, and remember that with each concert you play, you refine your ability to focus: a skill transferable to any arena of your life.

Practicing steadily enough to be ready to play in public is a big deal, and, included in that are logistics to manage. Someone made sure to rsvp, and on the day of the concert, found appropriate attire, collected the right music (your instrument, your siblings, your foot stool, etc.), then got everyone out the door on time. That’s a lot to do! Our hats are off to the member of your family who did this without a glitch, during the holiday season! Great Job!

On top of all of that preparation for December’s Community Concerts, there were quite a few who also remembered to think and feel outside the “bubble”. They brought what created 66 meals in donations for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. You know who that person is! Give them an extra big hug!
