June Recital: Perform Often, Build Confidence

You can count on CYM to bring performances to families that are easy to jump in to and fun to attend!

All CYM students playing any type of instrument are welcome to perform at the June Recital, which will take place at the Perry Highway Lutheran Church in Wexford, at 4pm on June 4th. This locale is a quiet and relaxed setting which provides every chance of your enjoying yourself and your fellow musicians! Share what you have been studying on all school year, while also working on the skill of performing.

Instrumentalists will show a lovely bow before and after their piece, and take the time to smile and acknowledge the audience. These habits may sound simple, but they don’t always feel natural in front of an audience – the concert will be a perfect time to practice them! CYM Faculty host will be Leah Givelber.

If your child isn’t ready to perform yet or if your family is still deciding which instrument to study, this concert will allow you to hear many instruments and see performers in action. As your young instrumentalist watches the more seasoned musicians, they will “lay tracks” for what is expected when their turn comes. And, as you observe during the recital, you will be able to notice which instrument your child has the most affinity for; the nuance of your observations will help inform the decision of which instrument to pick, allowing you to create the most meaning for your child and for your family.

All students, instruments, and stages of learning are welcome. We are committed to helping you raise a capable musician, one who is poised to share music in any setting! Register on the Craft Your Music website, at the Events Calendar. One ticket per performer (or pre-instrumental family observer). See you there!
