Ruan is an active Violin and Viola teacher, having a bachelor’s degree in music education attained in Brazil, and registered Suzuki Violin training through Books 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8, excluding complementary courses in violin pedagogy and group teaching.
Dr. Jennifer Blackwell, a Craft Your Music Community Partner, is a musician, educator, and researcher who trains skilled performers to become excellent teachers. A classical saxophonist and assistant professor at Northwestern’s Bienen School of Music, her work demystifies music pedagogy across Canada, the US, and beyond.
Victoria, Founder and Program Advisor of Craft Your Music, trains students to connect music, medicine, and wellness through coursework and performance. A violinist and longtime Pittsburgh-area educator who co-founded the Center for Young Musicians in 1994, she coaches young musicians and links them to research and philanthropic causes.
