CYM Students Perform in Grand Lobby

Fill spaces with beautiful sounds – that’s what musicians do after they practice well for years and years. When those people are kids who have learned a common set of songs by heart and perform regularly, theirs is music that can mesmerize, unite, and heal.

On February 26, in the Grand Tier Lobby of Heinz Hall, CYM violinists and pianists, led by Christopher Sforza, will start playing at 1:30 pm, welcoming patrons as they arrive. Violin Choir, Piano Solos and Duos, and the premiere of Sforza’s new composition “Mini-Minuet” will be performed. We invite you to attend – your life will be brightened!

Sunday afternoon’s Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra program begins at 2:30 and will include the Symphony No. 5 by Sergei Prokofiev and the Violin Concerto by Ludwig van Beethoven, Gil Shaham soloist. From the PSO – “One of the most paramount violinists of our time, Gil Shaham, graces Heinz Hall’s stage with Beethoven’s one and only Violin Concerto, filled with sweet and delicate melodies that audiences have grown to love over the years.”
