February’s Recital
Have you been working on a new piece of music for a while now and really want to share it with your music friends? Maria Constantine will host the February Recital at CYM Sewickley where the school’s historic Steinway will be available for students to hear and play. This Concert Grand was the first instrument used on stage by PSO soloists and personnel after the opening of Heinz Hall on September 10, 1971. The opening marked the completion of an 11-year campaign, initiated by Henry J. Heinz II that “stands as a testimonial to the civic spirit that has supported Pittsburgh’s cultural organizations since the turn of the century.” CYM acquired the piano in 2002, for student use in community events.
Come experience a very special (and very loud) Steinway, close up and in person; it has been recently tuned and voiced by specialist Guy Russo http://GuyRusso.com/schedule.
Newly-learned works will come alive in the presence of your fellow CYM students – to purchase Performer Tickets click CYM’s February Recital
