Easter Music – something special to celebrate
Hope you are still enjoying some candy and nice memories from a lovely Easter weekend. Here in the Northeast, we have somehow managed to revert to winter, and although that is not a huge surprise, it’s still a shock to the system. Nevertheless, we can still reflect on the significance of the holiday, and the inspiration to start anew.
Easter has inspired music written from the heart for hundreds of years by some of the most renowned composers, as well as some lesser known ones. Of course, it’s thought of within a Christian tradition, so there are a number of sacred works written for chorus and orchestra. Regardless of the religion we practice, we can appreciate the awe and grandeur of the music written to celebrate renewal and the start of Spring.
