Have A Handful?
You take lessons and prepare for a recital, audition, or competition. You perform – it’s fun! You make your mark, transferring skills from the practice room to the stage – demonstrating about 90% retention. Great Job! But wait – don’t toss that piece away! Now is the time to perform it again and capitalize on the culmination. The brain’s deep memory stores what you want to hold onto more easily when you play in public often; repeat performances increase your comfort in the lights and raise skill retention percentages.
Why not string two or three favorite pieces together and keep them fresh as you reach out to others who will appreciate the lift of your mini program? Within CYM’s community of music lovers, audiences are waiting every month to hear you play! Sign up with music friends and brighten lives with your solos or chamber music pieces. Your next concert is the September’s Sunflower Recital on Sunday, the 25th, at 3:00 pm in Sewickley. See you there!
