October’s Serenades
Congratulations to Sophia, Shaun, DeeDee, Tommy, Isaiah, Sofia, Abby, and Chloe for their wonderful performances in the two Serenades in Sewickley on October 9th! Performance and preparation skills were improved through careful planning beforehand and the students were very excited to have their first in-person recital since the start of the pandemic. Students enjoyed picking out what pieces they would play, and the audience listened to a wide range of selections including Sailing in the Sun, Spanish Caballero, and Ode to Joy by Faber, Ghost Waltz by McLean, and Etude Tableau, Op. 33 No. 8 by Rachmaninoff.
A few students performed for the very first time during these concerts, and worked very hard in the weeks leading up to the event in learning how to bow, perform with polish, and listen attentively to their fellow performers. For some of them, it was their first time playing on a big 9-foot concert grand piano!
Congratulations performers and parents on a wonderful evening!
