Victoria

Joined CYM in 1994

As Craft Your Music (CYM)’s Founder and Program Advisor, Victoria trains students to articulate the beneficial connections between music, medicine, and wellness. She provides coursework and performance opportunities, creating contributive habits and individualized portfolios for use in student applications for work or post-secondary education.

Leonard Moss, principal second violinist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, taught Victoria to play and from then she studied with Nancy Holland, Heidi Castleman, Victoria Chiang, Hiroko Driver, William Preucil Sr., Barbara Wampner, and Lorne Heyge. Foundational training was accomplished at Chautauqua, The Quartet Program, Meadowmount, the Great Lakes Music Festival, and through the Suzuki Association of the Americas and Musikgarten.

Victoria was a freelance musician and teacher in Boston, Rochester, Cleveland, South Bend, and Louisville. After co-founding Center for Young Musicians in Wexford, PA in 1994, she taught strings and early childhood music and also oversaw all personnel and curricula development at the school. With her continuous influence, CYM provided employment to dozens of exceptional teachers and music literacy and performance training to hundreds of students in the Pittsburgh area through 2023.

Currently, Victoria teaches strings in Sewickley, PA. She is certificate coach to young musicians aged 12 – 22, and guide to their performances and coursework included through CYM’s Music Advocate Program.

Victoria connects students and organizations to the latest research in music, medicine, technology, and pedagogy, deepening participants understanding of the benefits of music and creating opportunities for music lovers to join vital philanthropic causes.
