Donna Amato Sun-Sets “Music Plus” After 13 Great Years

Three students of CYM Piano Faculty Grace Burns, have been invited to perform before Ms. Amato’s program at the final Music Plus concert, held in Sewickley, on Sunday, May 22 at 2:30. We hope all will attend to enjoy the performances and support fellow young musicians Hanna, Eliza, and Clara, as they take the stage before this truly dedicated audience!

Pianist Donna Amato, internationally-renowned piano artist and Sewickley resident, will present a 50-minute concert on the St. James Steinway. The concert will include works by Debussy, Chopin, Gershwin, and more. As well as having a busy recording schedule, Ms. Amato currently teaches piano at University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University, and works at Carnegie Mellon as an Assisting Artist.

Ms. Amato is one of the founders of the Music Plus Concert Series, and is also co-director. Included among the groups who have benefited from collections taken up at the concert series are the Sewickley Food Bank, the McGuire Memorial Home, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and the Fire Companies of Sewickley and Aleppo.

Apart from her amazing artistry and good causes created through the series, Ms. Amato is a trusted colleague to many and a fellow music education advocate. Her family participated in CYM’s program for many years, her son as a music literacy and violin student, and Donna as accompanist for solo recitals. We offer sincere congratulations to Donna for this long-running and successful series and hope to see you, dear reader and music lover, at The Keyboard Mastery of Donna Amato! hosted at the St. James Church, 200 Walnut Street, in Sewickley. Thank you Donna for bringing such talent to so many listeners!
